Microsoft enters the high-tech underwear market

When we talked about our eight major companies, we spoke about which have some of their best years ahead of them and which have some major hurdles to jump in order to stay on (or near) the top. We said that Microsoft is puttering along, trying to keep its head above water with video games, search, Skype, music. We didn't talk about Microsoft coming out with wearables to help combat major healthcare issues. By creating lingerie that's "closer to the heart," Microsoft's analytics will be able to tell the user when they are hungry or simply stress-eating. Initial results seem to show some strength for these gadgets - but I'm curious to see how this turns out: will users want this? And is this an area Microsoft should be dabbling in?

While Microsoft works on bras and boxers, Samsung is taking a different route: SmartWigs. These wigs will help detect things from blood pressure to brain waves. Uses are "endless" - from video games to sleep aids.

With all of these new wearables, what is going to stick?
